The BC Centre for Disease Control has released their latest Merritt-specific COVID-19 figures showing a dramatic reduction in cases.
For the week of February 14 to 20, the case count dropped to 12 new cases.
Through the first two weeks of February, the area had recorded weeks of 30 and 26 cases, and overall, since the New Year 132 cases have been confirmed.
In all of 2020, there were just 39 cases in our local area.
Recently Merritt has seen two confirmed cases at the Florentine assisted living facility and one case at Collettville Elementary.
The Kamloops area recorded 78 new cases last week, Kelowna registered 36.
