SD58 confirms COVID case at Collettville Elementary

School District 58 Nicola Similkameen is informing parents that a positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed among the school community at Collettville Elementary School.

The exposure is stated to have occurred on February 18, 2021.

The person is self-isolating at home with assistance and direction from Interior Health.

The Health Authority will contact anybody in the community who needs to self-isolate as a result.

This is the first case reported at Collettville and follows single cases at Merritt Central, and Merritt Bench and four cases at Merritt Secondary.

The last positive case in a school setting in Merritt was February 11 at Merritt Central.
