Committees return to City Hall
Committees are once again up and running at City Hall.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced several City Committees to halt last year, but this month a trio of groups began meeting again.
Mayor Linda Brown was vocal in bringing committees forward during her election campaign and joined the first meeting of the Economic Development committee.
“I would like to see us move Merritt forward. Economic Development was one of the things that I put on top of my priority list during the last election. I think we’ve made a number of improvements in getting there, one of them is changing the zoning bylaws, and right now we’re working on updating the OCP (official community plan). I’m looking forward to this group helping us move forward,” said Mayor Brown.
So far in February, the Age and Accessibility, and Economic Development committees met for the first time, and later this week the Airport group will continue their work.
