Merritt man charged for allegedly uttering threats

The RCMP is informing the public that Merritt man has been criminally charged for allegedly uttering threats earlier this week.

“On February 13, 2021, police were called to the 2800-block of Cranna Crescent for a report of a man who allegedly uttered death threats. A police investigation determined that the victim and the suspect were known to one another, and the event was isolated,” reads the release from Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

Braeden Shane Drake, 21, of Merritt was taken into custody without incident and was charged with one count of uttering threats.

Drake has been remanded into custody and is expected to appear in court this morning (Feb 18).
