According to an alert issued Wednesday (Feb. 17), the drug is sold as Percocet — a common brand name for the opioid oxycodone.
However, IH says the drug contains acetaminophen and fentanyl.
Users of the drug are at a high risk of a fentanyl overdose.
The drug appears as a white pill with a ‘TEC’ stamp. Its contents were determined after testing at ASK Wellness in Kamloops.
IH advises drug users to get their drugs checked at ASK Wellness and never to use drugs alone.
