Upper Nicola closes offices as COVID-19 circulates

The Upper Nicola Band has been forced to close their administrative and health offices as COVID-19 continues to be present in the community.
“We have been informed that two of our staff members have been in contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19. As a precaction and to ensure your safety we are shutting the offices,” said Chief Harvey McLeod in a video to the band.
Chief McLeod also highlighted some good news for the band with zero new cases reported last week.
Overall, the First Nations Health Authority has confirmed eight positive cases within the community with the most recent on February 1, 2021. Currently five of the cases are considered active, a decrease of one since last week.
