Upper Nicola clarifies COVID case numbers
The Upper Nicola Band has been dealing with several positive COVID-19 cases over the past few weeks.
With the First Nations Health Authority confirming another positive case in the community on Monday, the Upper Nicola Emergency Operations Centre took the opportunity to clarify the numbers.

The Band has confirmed eight cases since the New Year, with six still considered active at this time.
Earlier this week, Chief Harvey McLeod addressed the situation.
“During these trying times it’s important for us to stay kind to one another and help each other out if possible,” said Chief McLeod in a video message to the band.
“It’s nobody’s fault but it starting to get too close and we need to be cognitive of the dangers. The dangers to our elders and the danger to our families,” added McLeod. “Let’s not take our guard down and feel that I’m not going to be affected, impacted, we don’t know that.”
