COVID-19 outbreak at Royal Inland Hospital grows to 66 cases, including 43 staff

In a Zoom conference with reporters Wednesday, Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Albert de Villiers reported 66 total cases of COVID-19 from the RIH outbreak, 64 of them still active.

De Villiers reported 43 cases among staff and 23 among patients. The death toll from the RIH outbreak remains at one.

IH says the outbreak is still confined to 6 South, which is the surgical ward where it originated, and 6 North, which is the COVID-19 ward.
