Merritt appoints economic development committee

Merritt City Council has appointed nine members of the public to sit on the economic development committee.

Along with the public members, Councillors Kurt Christopherson and Tony Luck will also be members. Mayor Linda Brown is also an ex-officio member of all Council committees.

The purpose of the committee is to advise the Council on matters pertaining to economic development, downtown revitalization, investment, business attraction, and long-term economic sustainability.

The committee was originally established back in June of 2020 but remained inactive until now.
