Housing Project Proposed For 2270 Quilchena Ave

Open house tonight to discuss proposed Quilchena Ave affordable housing project.

“People seem to be curious, they have questions, or maybe even some concerns. The whole point of the open house is to just illicit those responses, and get folks educated on the project, and provide answers to any questions they may have.”

Ask Wellness Director of Operations in Merritt Stacey Wormell-Street says the joint 30- unit project with BC Housing proposed for 2270 Quilchena Ave, would be the first affordable housing project built in Merritt in some time.

“Our intent is to provide housing to folks who have really struggled to find affordable and safe housing in the region. This is the first project of this kind in more than 10 years to break ground in the community.”

Tonight’s open house goes from 6pm to 7:30pm at the Ask Wellness Society offices.
