Court Appearance Scheduled

Suspect in alleged Merritt carjacking expected back in court.

25-year-old Samantha Vleeming to make her second court appearance in Kamloops today.

She’s charged with using a firearm in the commission of an offence and assault causing bodily harm as a result of her involvement with an alleged carjacking in Merritt back on November 24th.

The second suspect in the alleged carjacking, 31-year-old Cory Battilana, will make his second court appearance in Kamloops on Monday.

In addition to facing a charge of using a firearm in the commission of an offence, he’s also charged with one count of assault with a weapon and breaches on a sentence order from an unrelated offence.
