Officially Charged

Suspects in alleged Merritt car jacking officially charged.

31-year-old Cory Battilana and 25-year-old Samantha Vleeming, both from the Lower Mainland, made their first court appearance Friday in Kamloops Provincial Court.

They’ve both been charged with using a firearm in the commission of an offence.

In addition to that Battilana faces one count of assault with a weapon and breaches on a sentence order from an unrelated offence, while Vleeming is also charged with assault causing bodily harm.

The two will make their next appearance in Kamloops Provincial Court next week.
