Warming trend on the way just in time for the long weekend.
Environment Canada's Alyssa Charbonneau says for the first time this year, the temperature is expected to hit 30 degrees in Merritt Monday, which won't help with flooding concerns in the Nicola Valley.
"There is definitely a feeling that usually we don;t get the best weather on the May long weekend. This weekend will be warm and sunny though, which probably excites most people. However, the warm conditions are expected to cause increased melting of the area snowpacks, increasing the risk of flooding throughout your area."
Charbonneau is expecting the warming trend to continue well into next week.
