A new mobile app will help the District of Logan Lake provide residents with real time information on various emergencies.
Emergency Coordinator Dan Leigton in Logan Lake says the app will report incidents like road closures, road construction, and wildfires.
"In most emergencies, communication is a big problem. The faster you can get information to people, the easier it is for them to evacuate people or tell them what they need to do."
The $39,000 in funding being used to create the app was provided through the Smart Communities Pilot Program.
Leighton is hoping to have it up and running by the spring.
