First chance to cast a ballot for the 2018 Municipal Election.

Advance polls are scheduled today.

In the City of Merritt, Elections Officer Sean Smith says residents can cast a ballot from 8am to 8pm in the community room at City Hall.

"You have to be 18-years of age or older, a Canadian citizen, a resident of BC for six-months, and a resident of the City of Merritt for at least 30-days."

An advanced poll is also scheduled in the City of Merritt for Oct 17th.

Meanwhile, residents in the TNRD can also cast their vote today at City Hall in Merritt, or at the TNRD's head offices in Kamloops from 8am to 8pm.

A second advance poll is also being held locally through the TNRD's mobile library on Oct 18th, at both the Quilchena Hotel and Courtesy Corner Store in Lower Nicola.
