Gottfriedson Mountain wildfire now mapped at 550 hectares and is expected to keep growing.
The wildfire burning north of the Okanagan Connector 24km outside of West Kelowna sparked yesterday afternoon.
Kamloops Fire Centre information Officer Brenna Ward says BC Wildfire Service personnel continue to do what they can to stop it from spreading any further.
"Today we have requested more heavy equipment to battle the fire. We also have seven personnel on the fire and are utilizing fire ward and crews. The fire has been re mapped at 550 hectares, and it is expected to grow further."
Ward says the wildfire continues to burn 'Out of Control' but no structures are being threatened at this time.
The wildfire is believed to be the result of lightning.
