Another day, another daily temperature record broken in the Nicola Valley.
It got to 36.8 degrees in Merritt yesterday, breaking the previous record of 35.5 degrees for August 9th set back in 1981.
However, after two straight days of record breaking heat Environment Canada's Doug Lundquist says it is expected to cool off as we head into the weekend.
"A cold front is expected to move in Friday evening, and it should be much cooler over the weekend. Highs are only forecasted into the mid-20's and there is also precipitation in the forecast."
Lundquist says the forecasted rain will help clear the current smoke from the sky in the region.
