Environmental Resources Technology program at NVIT receiving national accreditation.
President Ken Tourand says after five-years the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board is once again officially recognizing the two-year program.
"We had been offering the Natural Resources program since we started back in 1983. Then about five-years ago we changed it from Natural Resources to Environmental Resources. When we made the change, we lost our accreditation. And, so over the last couple years we hired Tom Wilms as our new department head, and just recently we able to demonstrate that the program met the requirements."
Graduates of the Environmental Resources Technology program will now be recognized as having met the requirements for becoming Registered Forest Technologists.
