Truck and boat stolen during brazen afternoon robbery at Merritt auto shop.
Merritt RCMP S/Sgt Lorne Wood says the late model Ford F150 and attached boat were stolen from DCS Auto on Lauder St yesterday afternoon in broad daylight.
Both belonged to the owner.
"He had it in the parking lot, just to take it in and out of the shop kind of thing. And, the guy jumped into it and took off."
The boat was discovered by the City of Merritt bylaw officer shortly after on Douglas St, but the truck is still missing.
"They called to say they found something odd over on Douglas St in the alley way. Officers then went over a found the boat and trailer with the hitch pin laying there. I don't think it was more than a half an hour later."
The suspect is described as Caucasian and roughly 5'8.
A picture of him and the missing 2011 Ford F150, with the BC License Plate number EV8150, is up on the Q101 website.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Merritt RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
