Family Day on the move for 2019.
Premier John Horgan announces that starting next year, BC's Family Day will now be observed on the third Monday of February.
Horgan says moving the holiday from the second week to the third is so families across Canada can celebrate together.
"Moving Family Day is the right thing to do for businesses small and large, and is better for families who may be spread out across the country. This gives families an opportunity to schedule and spend more time with loved ones from other provinces."
The move aligns BC's Family Day with the rest of country. The holiday was established in British Columbia in 2013.
