Construction of the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology's new Centre of Excellence in Sustainability proceeding well, but slightly behind schedule.
"We are about 60% complete, but not quite at the lock-up stage yet."
As it sits, President Ken Tourand says it's unlikely that the $10-million plus expansion at the Merritt campus will be ready to host the school's spring graduation ceremony as planned.
"Even if the building is ready, logistically we won't have the time. So, we're probably going to be in the Civic Centre again for one more year. And then, hold graduation ceremonies for 2019 in our brand-new building."
The 20,000-square foot Centre of Excellence in Sustainability will house a full-size gymnasium, lab space and a culinary program.
