Solar power options being investigated by School District 58.
Superintendent Stephen McNiven says a solar garden like the Lower Nicola Indian Band school installed in 2016 would be among the many options being considered by the district.
"I'm glad that we've come to a point where we're actually going to take a solid look at it, and see if it's feasible. Certainly from a climate perspective, and an environmental perspective something we're all interested in. Then there's quite an educational component to it all, so beyond just is it feasible to a cost point of view there's certainly educational benefits to consider if we should be doing it or not."
A report will be presented to SD 58 trustees in January, outlining ways the district can utilize the renewable energy resource.
