New Local Education Agreements immenent for Coldwater and Nooaitch Indian bands.
School District Superintendent Stpehen McNiven is hoping to have the five-year agreements ratified within the month.
"We are through our conversations, and have come to agreement on the terms of the document. Now it comes down to formatting that, putting a draft out for further agreement, and signing it off."
Once signed by the Coldwater and Nooaitch Indian bands, School District will have LEA's in place with all area bands but Shackan.
An LEA is an agreement between one or more First Nations and a provincial school board, for the purchase of educational services by the First Nation(s) for its status Indian students ordinarily resident on reserve but attending schools off reserve.
