Recorded interactions way up this summer for Merritt and District Chamber of Commerce Tourism Ambassadors.
Manager Etelka Gillespie confirms the trio were responsible for 3,672 interactions, up from 2,048 in 2016.
"The girls really preformed well this summer. They were tasked with extra responsibilities this year, and really stepped up. The program continues to be a huge asset for both the city and area businesses."
The increase in interactions had a lot to do with the Tourism Ambassadors participation in both Bass Coast and the Rockin' River Music Fest.
The program, which has been run the last two summers in Merritt, is funded through federal grants.
