Upper Nicola Band issuing Algae Advisory for Douglas Lake.
Chief Harvey McLeod says fish carcasses found along Douglas Lake, and the Nicola River are likely the result of an algae bloom.
"We just noticed that the other day. We are now working with the First Nations Health Authority and some biologists to get an idea of what is happening up at Douglas Lake."
While the investigation in ongoing, McLeod says its important people, and their pets avoid algae blooms, and if contact is made with them, to wash the area with tap water as soon as possible.
